Front Rotors for "05 SEEG
« on: November 22, 2006, 02:28:38 PM »

Just put Lyndel  Pads on the front of my '05 SEEG and still have that pulsation in the handle when I apply the brake . Figured I just need

to change the rotors out as I 'm told they can't be resurfaced like a car. What is good way to go???  H/D

Your rotors are cut to look like the pattern of your wheel. If you want to keep it looking stock you don't have much choice but to stay with genuine HD if not look into a set of Russell rotors. If I change that is all I run.

just get yourself a good clamp on dial indicator. spin the front wheel slowly ,and you will find the area with excess lateral runout.  then..with a rubber mallet..or a piece of wood if you have to "reposition" that part of the rotor outwards from the other side...hit the rotor till it's back to within 8 thousandth runout.  I had a pulsation on my SEEG and it turned out to be the left front rotor...  I was able to bring it back to within 2 thousandths with a bout 1/2 hour of effort.
Still is good to go.......you've got nothing to lose as the rotor(s) are no good the way they are now.
