Bluetooth for Helmet??
« on: August 11, 2014, 02:27:09 PM »

I would like to buy some kind of system to connect to my Android phone via Bluetooth so I can send   and receive calls and play music.  I have an HD helmet with a space on the helmet designed  to place a Bluetooth device.  Can anybody tell me what a good one would be.  Thanks.

I bought a torq t22 of eBay, modular helmet with built in blinq 3 bluetooth and dual visor. It's stereo and works great. My kid just got 1 for our trip and we were able to link them together for rider to rider intercom.
Not bad with catching the sale price of $179.00, they usually sell for $285.00
Don't know if that helps but bluetooth gets expensive.

I have the Uclear HBC 200. We recently did a 4 bike, 6 people tour to Canada from the Carolina's. This set up you can talk bike to bike, you and your passenger, Bluetooth music, and send and receive phone calls. We had a mixture of phones, Apple and Android. It worked great. I really like this set up, the microphone is integral to the ear speaker so there is no mic boom in your face,

Not much better out there than the Sena SMH10.  The system just keeps getting better with their regular firmware updates.

this.

I've been using the SMH10 for a couple of years. It's the way to go.

^^X2. We used these on an long trip out west in June. The speakers and boomless mic worked well. We also had the earbuds for this setup and used them a lot with our 1/2 helmets. Getting the earbuds and built in line mikes to work at hiway speeds was a challenge but was way cool for riding around town. Linking to the phones was easy, but would have been great if they could have linked to our bikes. Maybe one day. Very nice to have an intercom with earbuds, no boom, and no tether to the bike.
