Terry,

I have spoken with Dan and will get the member discount if/when I do this. Great folks there.

The one question I have regarding the HD fronts is the mention in the description that it "Complements the Premium Ride Hand-Adjustable Rear Shocks (Low Profile and Standard-Height) by providing a balanced suspension system capable of delivering superior ride characteristics "

I have the stock air suspension on the rear of mine...if that matters. I thought if i got in a time pinch I could go with the HD, but I am hoping (see my most recent post above) that the PS Mono's will be repaired or replaced with proper working ones in time for RibFest.

It won't matter about the rear shocks.  The "Premium Ride" rear shocks they speak of come on the CVO Street Glides, if I'm not mistaken.  They are supposedly better than the stock POS Turd Air Shocks, but I personally would never waste my money on any HD rear shock system...IMO, they are all crap.  Almost any aftermarket shock would be better than what you have on the bike now.  If I did not need the air adjustment that comes on shocks like the Legend Air Ride...I had to have them in order to touch the ground well enough to park the bike...something like Bitubo, Ohlin, Suspension Technologies, Works...there are others, but those come to the top of my head.  I can only vouch for the Legends and the Bitubos...both of them are THE best, but again, that is my opinion and suspension/handling/ride quality are very important to me, so I am biased towards spending bucks on those things rather than cams and such.  Glad to hear that PS is stepping up and replacing the 'tubes.  But the air shocks you have on the bike now are truly turds...you just don't know what you're missing because you don't have a basis for comparison.  If you can get Brian (Bitubo) to let you ride his bike at Ribfest, or Jerry (Legend), you'll discover what I'm talking about.

I've had the Bitubo's before on my 2007 and 2009 CVO and to be honest can't tell the difference. To ME, they are too much. I need something more simple. I don't three different things i need to adjust or go back to school to learn how to work them. I don't feel like I'm that stupid, just that impatient. A good ride is very important to me as well. The legend air suspension I have always been curious about but never pulled the trigger. Seems like my cup of tea to push a button and set it for how I am traveling. I'll see if I can get Brian AND Jerry to let me take a spin on their rides. Brian may be too busy keeping his clean to part with it though!  :drink:

Did not realize you'd had the Bitubo's previously.  If you like simple, the Legends would be the ticket to having instant adjustment for different loads and/or road conditions, on the fly.  Jerry has the latest version of the Legends, if I'm not mistaken, which not only have larger air boots, but also rebound damping adjustment.  Generally, rebound damping is a set it and forget it thing...it's the compression damping that requires the most tweaking, regardless of brand.  The Legends make that effortless. I had the larger boots on my last bike and they did make a difference, so them and the rebound damping should be great for you.  But, they are pricey.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and have a great time at Ribfest...tell everybody Goober says "Hey"...eat a rib or three for me.
