2014 Hard Bags
« on: March 10, 2014, 04:11:46 PM »

So was reading a thread on another forum about how easy it is to steal hard bags. So my question is, are the 2014 bags more secure? If not, what is the best way of making them more secure?

No more secure than any of 'em - get some Brukus hardware and you'll feel better.

^^^^^ What he said. I have Brukus hardware securing my bags and seat. It will definitely make a thief look for an easier target. After hearing a few horror stories about bags falling off at highway speeds I feel better knowing they are bolted on.

Somewhere I have read that the new design bags make it more difficult to access the clips that hold the bags on.

True, at least from the outside.
Still have the same hardware inside if you leave your bag unlocked it's easy to take them.

Thanks, will check out the Brukus kit. Guess the question is, how easy is it to remove bags when you have the Brukus kit, as I need to remove the left bag to adjust preload.

I think it's a torx bit, looks like an Allan key. Simple to take off, Brukus is great.

I'm pretty sure you can pick up some speed nuts at the local hardware store and pick out what you want for bolts for under $10 and not wait for shipping.
