Shooting a plane down is not a problem should it show up later.
I'm just concerned for all those original passengers.
There will be some really pissed off nations if they have been killed.

No GPS, Internet, cell phones, satelite surveillance when Amelia was making history....which really should say how in the heck do you loose a plane of that size (or any size) these days?  Really bizarre case here.
