Velva-Ride vs Glide-Pro Front Motor Mount?
« on: April 14, 2014, 01:19:01 PM »

I've been running the Velva-Ride for the last 2 years and at first, it seemed OK. However, it seems the vibrations are getting worse. At anything under 2,000 but over idle, the fairing is all over the place.

I was thinking about trying the Glide-Pro but hate to spend the $100 buck to end up with the same thing.

Has anyone tested both and can compare which works better to dampen vibration?

Check the fairing mounting brackets and the speaker braces.  Both were quick to crack and break, and many of us applied various bandaid style fixes until Harley finally came out with a revised design.  When those brackets break the fairing will shake big time, no matter what brand of motor mount you use.

'Can't speak as to the Velva-Ride...

The GlidePro is a lot smoother than the (3) replacement HD mounts that have been installed over the years ('05 SEEG)

'Installed the whole GP Kit, not just the front mount...

'Big fan of the GlidePro!

I just replace my front motor mount with the older B version. Motor 119HP/123TQ and 38,000 miles it finally died making my 2 into 1 exhaust bracket tab at the muffler break. Repaired that after replacing the mount. Took almost 3 hrs of my time.

Yeah, I replaced the vertical fairing brackets last year, along with the horizontal speaker cross brackets too.
