HD 113" kit and pistons
« on: March 19, 2014, 10:24:35 AM »

What are peoples thoughts here on Harley's 113" kit that I believe is a direct bolt on if you have a 110" engine already. Is it better than say having your current 110 jugs bored to 113" and buying some high compression pistons? Thanks for any input.

I have not seen a HD 113 kit that is a direct bolt on. Do you have the part number for it? Most 110 people I have talked to are boring the 110 cyl's .060 over to the 113 if they are going the 113 direction.

Thanks for that info. Researched further and you are correct, not a bolt in application!

You can bore the stock OEM 110 cylinder to the 113 size. The 113 kit is a cylinder kit that would require you to bore the case spigot hole larger.

Thanks GMR. Do you sell pistons to fit the bored out cylinders?

Yes we do, I would suggest buying the pistons first and then boring the cylinders. That way you have the pistons correctly fitted to the bore.

Doing it any other way............is incorrect.
Measure skirt diameter, add the manufacturer's clear spec, and set the .0001" dial bore guage to that dedicated dimemsion.

The revolution 113 kit bolts right on a 110 motor with out any machining at all.  Did mine over at the end of the season and absolutely love it. Small size increase but big torque increase and it has to run at least 50 degrees cooler especially in traffic.  The stock cylinders would take 5-10 miles to shed the heat built up during 20 minutes of traffic. The Revolution barrels take no more than a minute to do the same.  Not a scientific test but my legs and crotch know the difference.

I am confused here, I thought there is taller piston that goes in stock cylinders and gives you extra 3'' and there is no need for boring cylinders, can someone explain this.

It is based on bore size 110 =  4.00 bore X 4.375 stroke   113 = 4.060 X 4.375 stroke.

Glad you like your revolution kit I hope that it never creates any issues for you.  :)

Rev perf spec'd those kits out with CP psitons and sent them out the door,.. countless other shops had issues along with us. New piston in the kits today , based on what you can read on the net they still have issues.
