It depends on what brand of tire you are running as actual widths vary for a given size between different manufacturers.  You can run a 140 Dunlop like the '04-and-later touring bikes, but you'll have to trim the rubber flap and metal strap on the back side of the lower belt guard.  If you ride where you encounter a lot of loose stone or other abrasive road debris, you may not want to do this.

*Well I just upgraded my wheels and tires to 18" wheels and 140 ME880's. The place I purchased the package told me that it won't be a problem to run this combo. But I will def. check all my clearances before final fitment. Later,Q Oh and by the way as if you cant see it below this I have a 02 SERK.

I have a 140 ME 880 on mine. It is tight but fits fine.

I would NOT reccomend it.
Watch the belt guard, belt, swingarm clearance...there are bolt heads protruding through the fender...I wouldn't do it.  Why do you think the 07SERK has a wider swingarm, different belt guard and take a LOOK at how close all of that comes to the swingarm/belt.  Your tire flexes.  Especially when you go around corners and bumps...even though it feels rock hard, it moves a LOT and if it comes in contact with just one of those little items (say a screw head) you risk a puncture (blow out)  Are there folks out there flurtin with disaster..you bet.  I just hate to hear of another rider down because someone wanted to go a little fatter.
