I think it would look great!! How much you figure to have it painted to match?

I'm a fan of painted to match buckets. They got a winner with the '14 SERK. So many things.....so little money.

has anyone ever removed the headlight nacelle? Do I need to remove the handle bars for this project?

I've removed the nacelle on a 2008 roadking.  it was not necessary to remove the handlebars.  Pretty easy procedure.  However, I was at the bagger nation website and they had a streatched nacelle that looked pretty similar to the one you are talking about here.  and the purpose of that piece of equipment was to readjust the angle of your headlight after you change the rake of your front end like you would if you were putting a 26" wheel on the front end.  So make sure if you're not raking out your front end that the new nacelle doesn't screw up the angle of your head light.

i just looked at your link of the nacelle.  let me add that the OEM nacelle i took off the 2008 road king is a two piece deal.  That piece of thrim that runs down the top of the nacelle covers the seam where the two pieces come together.  The nacelle located at the link you posted looks like it's one piece.  Therefore maybe you would need to remove your bars to install.

Looks much better than the 2013 SERK red. Why does the MoCo ever, ever go away from a breathtaking paint scheme?

They barely made that model.  That has been my all time favorite factory paint scheme since I first saw it.  Never wavered.  Those bikes are old enough now most don't know them and even fewer are interested simply because of their age.

Have to admit I'm even more pleased with mine since I built it from scratch.  Costs a lot less to do things you want once than to buy a complete bike and mod over and over tossing stock stuff as you go.  Cool bikes though.  Gotta love it :drink: .

If you're referring to mine it's not an extended nacelle.  Just the stock nacelle with the HD headlight extension ring added on the front.  It's also not paint.  Powder coated at the same time the frame and seemingly thousands of other parts were done.  All done together for color match.
