Don't forget the seat
« on: April 20, 2014, 01:09:24 PM »

I ride a 2013 CVO anniversary Road King and from day one had issues with the stiff ride.  I changed out the front suspension to the monotubes and it helped, but was still a little stiff in that I felt most of the bumps in the road.  I considered a higher profile front tire, but learned with the present wheel I was locked into the stock Dunlop tire.

What I hadn't considered was the impact of the seat in this equation.  I installed my Corbin dual touring, which had been used on a 09 road glide from day one.  I recently purchased a Mustang Super touring which is a softer and more cushioned when compared to the Corbin.  The ride was considerably smoother the bumps decidedly less pronounced.   Made me think about the hard tails that used springs under the seat to improve the ride.  Anyway, if you have issues with your ride, consider the seat as a possible cure.
