We use Autocheck which is run by Experian who also is the top credit reporting agency.  We have found them to be more reliable and quit using car fax years ago. This vehicle checks out  perfectly with a score of 93. No accidents and last check it had 54,305 miles on 8/6/2013.i don't have a scanner but if you have a fax would be happy to send you a copy.

The problem with Carfax is that if the vehicle was in an accident and the owner knows a guy who owns a shop or thinks he can fix it himself you're never going to know that the vehicle was an accident. The only way Carfax is reported is if there is a claim on the insurance and the insurance company pays out. Or if it was repaired at a shop that reports the Vin number and damage to Carfax. IMO I would take the vehicle to a shop that you trust. Have them look over the vehicle and that will give you a much better peace of mind.

As others have stated, Carfax only works if items are reported.  Case in point:  We have a company vehicle that was purchased at a sale in Kentucky a few years ago.  Carfax showed no accidents, claims, mechanical issues.  When the vehicle was delivered and we started having some transmission and alignment issues, we dug a bit further and found out not only was it in a major accident with the entire front part of the van replaced (motor and all), it was actually a total loss.  Not reported because the company that had it did all the repair work in house/cash so no insurance claim or record for carfax to catch.  Not saying all transactions are like this but just beware.
