Chrome Brake Calipers for a CVO Breakout
« on: April 22, 2014, 08:38:01 AM »

As an individual with a severe case of OCD and an unrepentant chromoholic I have not been able to ignore the fact that powder-coded brake calipers look wrong on my all chrome/black bike . So I have been thinking about swapping them out with chrome calipers. I was all set to spend $800 to buy them from HD when Jimmy pointed me towards secondary suppliers of chromed parts for a fraction of the cost and he offered to help me swap them out (and I get to ride around in NC to boot :orange:). Unfortunately I was told by his supplier that he only sells calipers for touring bikes (what else is new?). So, before I give up and order the calipers from HD I would like to reach out to the members and see if anyone knows what options I might have.

The part numbers:
Chrome Front Caliper Kit-44395-08
Rear Caliper Kit-42047-08

Perhaps have your existing calipers chromed.......would lose some time riding however  :-\

That's my other option, which would mean i'd wait until November to take them off my bike and have them chromed.

Not a chance Jimmy! I'll be riding down your way in the next few weeks regardless as discussed and am planning on talking you into riding up to our neck'o'th'woods next April/May to supervise the caliper install and explore NOVA/MD/WV. :)
