96" TC Head CC size vs 88" TC Head size CC
« on: April 23, 2014, 09:29:44 PM »

I have a 2004 88" set of TC heads to get ported but I see that the 2007 and later 96" TC heads have way better flow. Does anyone know what the average CC size is for the 96" heads? I can do calculations and look for a set of 96" heads at resonable price to get ported.
Thanks

I know this is not on topic but its for the same motor. What flat top pistons?
S.E. cast flat top or K.B. Hypereutectic flat top piston? What piston is stronger?
Longer life? Pros/Cons?

If they are being truly ported and not just street ported then it doesn't matter 88 or 96.  Most porters actually prefer the early heads because there is more material to work with. As for pistons that depends on the end goal for a mild 95 nothing wrong with the SE flat tops.

   :2vrolijk_21:    Agreed

avoid the KB hypers...pistons are designed ok the material they are made from tends to be garbage

If you don't mind warming the bike the KB forged are decent pistons for the money
