i looked into buying a Indian a few months ago as i have a opportunity to get "a deal" on one but just really didn't like it that much BUT I like the look and sound of those pipes! IMO still not as much as a HD but going in the right direction..

I also looked the Indian bikes.  What turned me away are the lack of service shops across the states.  I think Harley has about 20 shops to each of Indian.  Otherwise, I might have one.

Call me old school but I like to see a pipe on each side. However that one did sound and look good.
Problem is closest Indian dealer is two hours from my house.

Hmmm  that does sound good.  Good thing that saddlebag is painted black or I think it would be black after a few hundred clicks.

If the quality and reliability turns out to be good, and I've heard nothing yet that says it won't, then not having a shop every 50 miles isn't such a big deal.  And if you have a product like Harley that has multiple reliability problems, having a dealership every ten miles isn't much help, especially if most of them couldn't fix the problem anyway.  I fully expect to see the Indian franchise continue to add dealerships over time, now that there is a real viable company behind the brand.  No one starts out with a huge dealer network, the network grows as the brand grows.  I'm hoping Indian does very well, grows rapidly, and kicks some crap out of Harley.  Only when Harley gets some serious competition will they start taking things like reliability and customer satisfaction seriously.

Maybe, just maybe It will induce MoCo to some higher quality standards on their cams, lifters, suspension, etc...
Competition is good.
