lower speakers
« on: May 11, 2014, 12:46:21 PM »

2011 SE road glide ultra, I want to wire/splice the lower fairing speakers to the amp wire harness, to the rear speakers. I have a detachable tour pack, and I don' want to add another amp. can someone tell me which wires are for the rear speaker on the plug to my rear amp. Thanks for any help. Alan

here's the issues you're going to have;

those CVO speakers are all 1 ohm speakers if memory serves me correctly (I don't work on many CVO bikes).  When that tourpak is on and the rear speakers connected you'll wind up with a 1/2 ohm load at the amp which is NOT a good thing.

Now you could wire them in series vs parallel but that would increase your ohm load at the amp to 2 ohms which would also effectively cut your volume/power output by a 1/3 or more when the tourpak speakers are connected.
