30 Tooth mod ... need help

I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONVERSION AND LOOKING FOR TIPS ON GETTING THE 2 1/4 NUT OFF.

After soaking the nut with Kroil overnight ( http://www.kanolabs.com/ ), I removed mine with a pneumatic impact wrench.  I don't think I could have removed mine without the assistance of the impact wrench...

getting it off is simple. Putting it back on is the hard part. Better have the right tools.

I got mine off with a pipe wrench, and a 4" piece of pipe slipped over it's handle.

Came right off.

I wouldn't use an impact wrench on the drive nut you can knock your flywheels out of alignment, I have a large 1" drive 4' breaker bar that works great and of course you need a torque wrench to properly tighten it back up.

If you knock your flywheels out of alignment by using an impact wrench to loosen the 2 1/4" nut that retains the transmission drive gear to the transmission output shaft, you've got a real problem!   ::)
