Redline shockproof
« on: June 04, 2014, 04:12:35 PM »

I was running Redline Heavy Shockproof in the transmission of my previous roadglide. So do I swap to this on my next change or do I stay with the Syn 3.

I recommend a real gear lube in the trans.  Shockproof Heavy, Spectro, BelRay, Amsoil, Mobil 1, etc., in 75w90 grade.

My Amsoil distributor called me specifically to tell me Amsoil Inc. recommends only their 75w140 gear lube for Harleys b/c of the heat, heavy bike, etc.

 :nervous:
Here we go again with what oil to use.  I'm an avid Redline user and use their products in all three holes.  On the other hand some will go with Amsoil and that is a good brand too.

I would NOT use Syn3 in any hole other than maybe the primary case.  Why ask for trouble. :nixweiss:

You pull the clutch in to put it in gear it makes no noise infact sometimes you have to move the bike slightly as the clutch doesn't drag at all. The clutch is way smoother and never slips this motor has 145 hp, been running this for about 4 years. Also have the Red line shock proof in the tranny.
