Helmet mod needed for bluetooth access.
« on: June 24, 2014, 11:06:25 AM »

 :confused5:
I have an expensive Arai helmet with a "mic" permanently attached to it.  When I had my SE Ultra,  I had the cord that hooked from the helmet to the access on the gas tank to use the intercom, etc.

Now,  I have a 2014 Street Glide Special and it has the Bluetooth setup that can recognize my smartphone.  I've used it to play music via Pandora on the phone and play it thru the bike speakers.

Is there a reasonable way to modify my Arai helmet to enable headset/Bluetooth capability somehow. :nixweiss:

No there is not. The Infotainment System on your bike does not support the Bluetooth helmet protocol. This protocol is called the HS Profile.

I have the SENA Bluetooth Headset for my Half Helmet and it works great with my HD Garmin 660 and my Cell Phone, I get MP3 Music from my Garmin as well as Voice Commands for GPS Navigation and also Cell Phone.
SENA also has Bluetooth headsets for 3/4 and Full Face Helmets.

So are you using your SENA headset for cell phone calls?  or is it able to be used as an intercom between bikes??  What model do you have?  I'm looking for something to talk between bikes.  AtAt Rolling Thunder I talked to a SENA rep and they had not made anything for talking to bikes with CB's yet, does yours??  Thanks in advance for the info!

My SENA Headset will talk between SENA Headsets and can use the Cell Phone. No Comms with CB Sets.
