Dallas you are wrong about the part number for the S/E Breather. Look on page 26, page 29 & page 34 of the 2004 Harley Screamin Eagle PRO Racing parts catalog. The correct part number is 29440-99B (which in August was updated to 29440-99C). If a dealer told you the old number, he has just failed to keep up with his updates. Both will work, that you are correct about, but the new number has the updated scavenging for the bypass gases, has two bypass hoses vs the old crossover system with only one. Much less chance of "blow-by" existing the breather and more equal scavenging by the vacuum of the engine. If you will look at the photo in the catalog mentioned above you will see the difference in the Crankcase breather system. No longer do you have the chrome crossover above the carb/EFI, now all exits straight down (to the ground by a hose, or back into the breather for a PCV system. The old system relied on the suction of the venturi to pull over the bypass, the rear cylinder recieved the most suction as it was closer to the EFI (or carb), the new one pulls equal from both sides. In the real world probably not much if any diference, But don't we all want the newest/latest stuff?? The main upside is the vacuum in the engine is very important and anyway you can improve it is a good thing.
