I use:
Redline W/Shockproof in the tranny;
Redline 20-50 for the engine,
Formula + (a HD product), in the Primary

You "search" on this site for more opinions, Redline is considered pretty good stuff especially in the tranny.

another user here.  i've been more than satisfied with it.  seems to keep the oil pressure up when it's hot out.  don't know that i would use that powerpack though, too much engine oil, not enough primary oil, and i'm perfectly happy with the shell rotella t in the primary ($12 per gallon)

Unless you just really want a Redline cap and funnel, you may be able to do better on price buying the different products separately from an online dealer.  And that way you will get the actual quantities of each product you need.  Late model primaries don't run just one quart (32 ounces) for instance, but call for 38 ounces instead.  Unless your bike uses oil between changes, you also don't need five quarts of motor oil as four is sufficient for a Touring model (and three for a Softail or Dyna).

Heard from the shop today about a report on synthetic oils that Mobil 1 was the only that was really any good. I've been running Amsoil in mine. Should I rethink?

Who sponsored/created the report.... Mobil??? I was told a long time ago a piece of paper will lay still and you can write/type whatever you want on it.... with that said use what works for you... if it ain't broke don't fix it. :nixweiss:

Heard from what shop?  Do they just happen to sell Mobil 1 rather than Amsoil or other brands by any chance?  Tell them to show you the full report.

Any time you hear stuff like that from anyone you will be safe to immediately discount what they say as total BS.  There are several motor oils that are just fine, including that often berated SYN3.  There is absolutely no brand that is the best in every important characteristic btw.  Even in the comparison tests that were published by Amsoil a few years ago their own oil didn't get top scores in every category.

Run a brand you like and change it at regular intervals. End of story.
