Downside is it supposedly only works on bikes with some rake (6* trees). I have not tried one on a stock bike to date. I could see having to manipulate the speedometer cluster so it wouldn't hit the fairing.

Could that bottom extended lip of the radio hole be shortened to gain clearance for the speedo/tach nacelle?

Good question. I don't see why it couldn't. You would simply loose the symmetrical opening which to me wouldn't matter.

That was exactly my thought too Mike.  Material could be removed in a way that equally contoured in from each side and don't think it would look bad at all.  That's a neat job on that inner fairing.  Impressed with it.  A little tweak like discussed here and you might have a much bigger market.

You going to add some rake to accommodate the shape of this worked part as Mike talked about earlier or going to rework the shape a bit and keep the nose as is?  Either way don't be afraid to share pics of the process :2vrolijk_21: .

No rake will be added.

I looked at the fairing and there isn't enough material to remove to gain any substantial clearance (maybe an 1/8"). I spent some time going over this in my head as well as looking at the bike and I believe I can gain the clearance needed via other methods. I have confidence I can use a modified fairing on a late model stock bike.

The later model bikes have that different angle mounting the fairing than the earlier bikes.  Don't think your modified fairing would work on the earlier bikes?

That I can't answer with any certainty. My initial thought would be to add a late model fairing bracket.
