which pistons for a 113 upgrade
« on: July 16, 2014, 07:58:52 PM »

planning my upgrade and since I plan on boring the cylinders I figure I might as well turn the 110 into a 113.  What pistons would you recommend, SE or the Mahle ?  other options?  Rest of the build will be GMR 577, 58mm TB, 5.3 inj and possible head work if budget allows

Mahle flatops 4.060 (113") which I carry and some minor headwork is all that is needed. Will match the rest of the parts and is already a proven combination of parts. Pipe needs to be scrutinized too.

We have  CP and Mahle make the 113 pistons for us, Options vary from one company to the next as well lead time,.. as well other shops do the same thing. I feel both pistons are top quality. As for a Wiseco I feel that they are a big name in the game but that does not mean they are the best quality. Even some of the Massive hitters like S&S are now seeing that and S&S is offering kits with the  CP piston.

We had some ring fitment issues with the 4.060 Wisecos

Actually the 120r stock piston will work with a slight cut on the barrels.
