Crane Cams
« on: July 22, 2014, 06:38:40 AM »

S&S owns Crane, no secret.
When on the phone with S&S the other day, I was told that by the end of 2014, almost all the Crane grinds will be moth-balled.
The 296-2 will remain, and I was requesting to keep the 300 in both Evo, and T/C application.
Time will tell, as it always does. :)

I heard S&S is selling off Crane. Maybe that's why. Crane will just be automotive after the sale.

I heard it has already been sold off. The new owner is suppose to be the Comp Group.

>I heard S&S is selling off Crane<

Only the automotive side. Scott's right they have been planning to get rid of what they feel are competing products to the S&S grinds, some will stay but they see no need to carry both the 290 and the 570....etc...

Same cam that Edelbrock used in their 95" kits.
That one does have a sewing machine noise.

Crane was sold to Comp cams. I was able to talk with them at a recent trade show. It turns out that S&S did not buy Crane but one of the S&S owners did. He sold Crane to Comp group but kept the rights to some of the HD motorcycle stuff. Those exact things were not discussed so I cannot answer that. Then he sold those rights he kept to S&S. Pete Amenda who was the head guy for the Crane area at S&S is now move on to Kuryakyn, so IMHO it looks as though that area is just being shut down and blended into the normal S&S.
