Stupid ? about an Ipod
« on: August 11, 2014, 11:05:43 AM »

Call me old-school, but I'm really stupid about all the new hi-tech gadgets. I was pissed that my nav kept interrupting my tunes when I rode my bike from Erie to home until I finally figured out how to turn the prompts off!

I sometimes spend hours on YT listening to tunes and would love to take them with me on rides. Is there something fairly reasonable I can buy that would automatically convert the video/audio signal into just audio? I guess I need some kind of ipod since I no longer can take my cd's with me now. I guess I'll have to get with the times and retire my old-school ways if I want to listen to more than the radio.

BTW ... I can get YT on my phone, but it's way too slow and doesn't work as nice as it does at home so that option is out for me.

Get an iPod / iPhone, sign up for iTunes (free) and rip (copy) your CDs into iTunes, then drag Playlists or albums into your device...

There are other brands of devices / software that do the same thing, I'm just familiar with the Apple stuff, since that's what I started with.

I use the iPhone 5 for Navigation, Music, Communication, Weather & Radar, Internet Access, and (soon to be) Tuning / Monitoring Functions on the bike. 'Have it Bluetoothed to the bike or Cardo Headsets. For me it's really great, as I only have to keep up with / learn 1 device.

Turning 58 this week, and all this stuff is easy / pretty intuitive, even for me... (a whole lot easier than learning a slide rule when I was in school...)

google this  "youtube to mp3". I use this to convert youtube songs into mp3's and then drag them into my itunes library and download them from there onto my ipod
