REAR CYLINDER "HOT"
« on: August 27, 2014, 12:13:29 PM »

When I first purchased my 2012 CVO Road Glide I had a set of Rinehart chrome true duals installed.  Loved the sound and performance.
Last summer I changed my mind and had black muffs and pipes installed plus a Thunder Max tuner - now when I ride on a warm day my inner thigh on my right leg is on fire.  I cant hardly stand to ride to to the amount of heat the rear cylinder is throwing off.

Is it the black pipes or what??????

The deflectors that clip onto the frame at the side covers / seat, help with the heat in that area

If you're still getting that kind of heat, I'd say your tune is too lean.

I complained about mine all the time until I changed cams and switch to a TTS tuner and a great tune. MUCH, much cooler now.

Hrtail78 on here did the work. GMR 577 cams, S&S lifters, TTS tuner and his tuning.

Wasn't trying to make power. I just wanted to get rid of the stupid heat.

There are absolutely tons of options out there but this worked for me.
