email programs

Just got a new laptop.  Was using windows live mail for years.  really like it.  Cant seem to get onto new laptop.  What email program should I use?  The one on windows 8 says it won't do pop3 type mail.  Not sure what to do.  Help please

if you have a laptop that is running windows 8, the first thing i would do is update to 8.1  a little more like windows 7 than windows 8 was.

i just checked my windows 8.1 installation.  i have live mail.  and it has no problem with pop mail.  i don't use it, but it gave me the option to add my pop email account.....

If you have windows 8, the first thing you do is wipe the hard drive and install windows 7!

I have had good luck using gmail.........try to stay away from windows based anything.
