Compensaver upgrade complete
« on: August 25, 2014, 06:15:56 AM »

Hi all,
Just completed the upgrade work on my compensator, gone through 3 compensators in the last 2 years (about 10,000miles),
finally got the latest version(2014) FOC from Harley (UK), fitted just in time to get the new "compensaver" oiling tray from GMR, Easy to fit and works very well, only thing was the radial thrust bearing fitted to the original SE compensator was very noisy, GMR now have a replacement for that in way of a composite thrust washer, got one, fitted it, NO more noise issue.
Have about 1,000 miles miles on the oil tray now, when I opened up primary to change out the thrust washer had look at the comp, very slight polishing on the ramps and no sign of fretting on the central part of the comp.
Now its also very quiet with the GMR composite thrust washer in place!
Although early days for me, it looks like fitting the 2014 SE Comp with the Compensaver oil tray + thrust washer fixes the problems encountered by the vast majority of people.
Take my word for it "IT WORKS GREAT".    See compensaver.com website.
Ride Safe.
Trippy.

I am from Ontario Canada.  Anyone know where to buy a compensavor from my area.  I just put the new comp on my 09 CVO ROAD GLIDE and would like it to last.  Thanks for now

Hi Dano,
I obtained my (and I live in the UK) compensaver from GMRperformance.com, just go compensaver.com, all the info you need is there.

HD`s Formula+ , have tried others but find Formula+ works well with the compensaver and I still get good clutch action,
its the only Harley fluid I use, SYN3 no chance.

I guess im a lucky one, still have the first se comp rev in mine at 68000 miles, still looked good when motor was apart due to inner cam chain shoe failure, but comp was good.
But i run formula plus, and put in 48 oz, 07 se ultra. No clutch drag or problems finding nuetral.

dano,

I am from Canada as well and on the waiting list. I have the new comp sitting on my bench and not going to start till I get my new compensaver and thrust washer. Make sure you consider the Hayden chain tensioner.
