HDPDPLUS3???
« on: August 31, 2014, 10:56:13 PM »

I've been kicking around getting the HDPDPLUS2 and have been noticing noticing references on Iron Crosses and Eastern PC's eBay list about the version 3, but nothing on their websites. The Mfrs site only shows the version 2 so does anyone know if the is a V3? If so what new features does it have?

HDPDPLUS3...the only one we sell now...has an expansion port for future planned modules.

Thank you for the reply. Can I ask what the planned modules are? And how far off they are? While I'm planning this out, if something interesting is coming soon, I'd like to plan around that too.

Also a couple of quick questions.

1.  I really hate the idea of using Scotch locks on the OEM wiring. Can I just route the power leads to other suitable sources? One is obviously a ground and the other I assume is switched power, correct? How many amps does this unit take? I cant imagine that much. I wonder if tapping the cigar lighter switched power would work?

2.  On the saddle bag kit, you just get the longer lead with the grommet on it, right? Do you still get the 3ft cable from the STD kit too? I think I'd rather go into the tour pak, but sorting that part out will be a winter project. With the shorter cable too, I can run it the rest of the season in the current handlebar mount.

3. I have the XM and CB modules under the radio with the Arc amp on top. Is there a way to keep everything and mount the iPod unit somewhere else or do I have to get rid of one of the others? I don't use the XM so I could lose that if I have too but do I just unplug and leave the bike side connector unconnected and tied up? Alternatively if I was to keep everything, where else could I mount the iPod unit? Its pretty tight now.

Thanks!

Any ground or Constant power source will be fine.
Do not connect to switched power.

Modules being considered are satellite and Bluetooth.
I have no projected ETA

If you order the Saddlebag kit, we still supply the standard 40 inch cable also

3 modules and an amp may be a bit much.
You can remove the XM and just secure the connector.
