Trek to Alaska
« on: October 03, 2014, 12:24:14 AM »

My wife and I took a trip to Alaska in June.  Finally got the video complete.  It is hard to compile 20 days of film into a short video.  Warning it is 15 minutes long.
Check it out

Great Video, looks like you had good weather and a nice vacation.
Not being critical but I would have liked to see a map that outlined the trip at the end of the video.......as I am pretty clueless about Canada  :coolblue:

Good luck with the business!!! :huepfenjump3:

Great video!!  We were up there around the same timeframe this year.  It looks like your weather was as great as ours!!!  Maybe we'll see you up there next year too!

Great Video and super nice pictures. Thanks for going to the trouble of putting it together. It brings back happy memories.  Watching this I just found out there is an "end post" to the Alaskan Highway--didn't know that and of course, missed it.  Thanks again----you did a lot of battery charging for the Go Pro.  I know I'll watch it several times.

Thanks.........yes the weather was good......only had one bad day where we drove about 250 miles in the rain.  From Denali Park gate south to Anchorage.  That's why there is no video of that stretch if you noticed.  But that was the only bad day.  It was chitty cause I was anxious to see Mount McKinley and couldn't even see past the ditches that day  haha.  Although they say that mountain is only visible 31 days out of the year.  Which is crazy.   We couldn't hold up due to all of our accommodations were all prebooked.
If you want to see the map it is on our website under "Bike Tours" "Trek to Alaska"  sorry I can't give u a link to the site as I get in trouble for that kinda stuff.  You can pm me or watch the video again as I think we put the url on there.  I'd be happy to answer any questions you have for Western Canada.

I'll watch for you .......lol    :)

Our plan is to go a bit later next year.....like July 03/15 I believe for 21 days
We will miss the solstice but may get some warmer weather.  We wore our heated gear to much for my liking on this trip.  The locals said June is usually warmer than it was this spring.  How do you know????  Hit and miss like any other prov or state.

Yes the end post is in Delta Junction.  Hard to see when your driving thru.  We had to circle back.  Never seen a stretch of hwy with more history.  It was interesting and an amazing feat how it was built..... hard not to stop at every historical site.  We bought a "Milepost"  before we left........ it is a must for a trip like that.
We had a spare battery for the Go Pro and used both up each day.  Charged them each night for the next day.  Was an awesome trip.  We took over 25 hours of video  lol
