I remember the last time there was a discussion about the same type of product someone refer ed it to like the plastic that was used back in the 70's to cover your furniture....... ;D

That was funny. I grew up on that stuff....lol.

The concept of Hog Skin protection for your Hog has been around for awhile. A decade or two back, there was a Hog Skin branded condom for sale. I recall one of the big distributors, possibly Custom Chrome, was selling them.  :)

I know this is an old thread.....I wanted to let everyone know that they are now offering a complete Hog Skin Kits for the 2015 CVO Street Glide.
You will need to let them know you need the kit with speaker lids....talk to Terry or Nikkie....great people and customer service....at least until they update their website.

I installed the kit and with the instructional video....it wasn't difficult.

Several different brands of this stuff, I have used it and regardless it just does not look as good as just painted/waxed surface. I have been riding a long time and joined the fairing bike ranks 10 years ago. I do not ride a whole lot but have ridden approx 100k in the last 10 year and I have not recieved a single chip on the fairing or front fender, I take extra care to not tailgate, pay attention when following trucks etc. But I just see no reason to have this cover my paint, not cheap and yellows over time. AND if you get a chip/dent, file a claim, it will only cost your deductible to get your bike repaired and your insurance will pay the rest. Deductible probably less than the invisishield.

Thats interesting, I did not know motorcycle insurance would pay for chips. I may have to look in to that. I do have one big chip that could use fixin.

Your insurance will pay for damage. A flying rock that chips or damages the paint, that is a claim. Multilple chips that accumulate over time, different story.
