HD B+ connector
« on: September 19, 2014, 10:16:38 AM »

I have a 2012 SESG and want to know if they have the B+ connector somewhere under the seat or in the battery area on them from the factory?  I do not want to have to pull a bunch of stuff off to find out.   If it does have the connector, are all of the tabs used by other accessories that they put on the CVO models?  I am about to order some Wards Fans and do not know which way to order the connection.  I would prefer a plug and play option if it is there.  Any help would be nice.

Yes, it does have a B+ connector, as indicated in the attachment from the wiring diagram in the parts catalog.  I'm not sure exactly where and how they have it tucked away on your bike, but it's usually near the battery tray close to the P&A Accessory (switched) connector.

If it's the connector I think you're talking about, it's in the left side cover. It's only about a 3" long wire with the 3-pin connector on it. I undid the zip ties and pulled mine up under the seat, where I could actually use it. It's intended for wiring a Tour Pak, which is what I used it for.

The accessory connector is a different connector. It's under the seat, behind the fuel tank... the normal position.

I wired up my Wards fans directly to the battery, but you need to remove the tank to do it right. You need to zip tie the new wires to the existing bundles, under the tank.

The B+ connector should be a single hot wire and single terminal connector.  The three terminal connector is something different; as you noted it's for the Tour Pak.

The only difference as far as I know on the connecting harness from Wards is that the power lead will either have a ring connector to attach to the battery terminal screw, or a spade type connector to attach to the B+ connector.  If you get one version and prefer the other, it should be pretty simple to cut off one type and solder on the other type.  The connection to the B+ terminal is the preferred method as opposed to the battery terminal screw.

Thanks guys. I knew someone would know. It beats hunting around for it.  Never had the side cover off. I have only had it for a few months.

It's buried down in front of the battery in the cavity
