Penobscot Narrows Bridge - Prospect, ME
« on: October 14, 2014, 11:13:43 AM »

Went up the coast over the weekend seeking out fall foliage. It wasn't as compelling as I'd hoped, but I did take some exposures at various stops, including several of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory.

No, but afterwards I realized I should have taken the time to do so. There were far fewer people around this time of year - no crowds or waiting. That's a neat image you posted.

Indeed - Fort Knox is well worth spending time to visit and investigate. There was a time I was  involved with Civil War re-enacting and attended several events there. Fort Knox also hosts medieval events from time to time which is interesting.

Penobscot is up there a little bit. They are saying it may be past peak foliage up there. Southern NH is nice right now. Was going to try the Kancamagus this weekend, but the potential for rain in the Mtns of NH is a bit high this weekend, with no rain predicted further south. May ride down to RI or CT and see what that is like

Great riding area. Did that last year. The Riesling at the Ravines vineyard is by far and away the best IMO. And Tony's red is a nice smooth table wine
