Muffler Compatibility
« on: November 03, 2014, 07:41:58 PM »

I have my old stock pipes from my 2007 CVO Road King FLHRSE3 (66080-06B and 65913-06B) and was wondering if I could put those on my new (to me at least) 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra FLTRUSE (65583-11 and 65594-11)? It has Rineharts on it now, but not sure if I want to keep them on. Thanks!

They would fit just fine but I would double check all the 66080-06B and 65913-06B) mufflers I have had have catalytic convertors in the inlet, If your putting in replacement baffles it makes no difference.

If the Rineharts are too loud, I'll probably just take them off and put the stock pipes (from my old CVO) on. I am not following you on the catalytic converter part. Aren't them built into the muffler?

These mufflers you listed have the cat near the inlet of the muffler. You can take a quick peek and see it.
If you want to install them (assuming they are "stock") you will then have a cat in each of the muffler inlet AND a larger cat in the header pipe (again assuming you use the stock head pipe).
You will then have a bike full of cats!

The previous owner put on "true duals" so I am assuming the "cat" in the header is gone? I am picking the bike up this weekend and riding it back. I've always thought that Rineharts were loud, but I haven't heard these yet. I am picking the bike up in Colorado this weekend and riding it back to Texas, so the road trip will let me know if the pipes interfere with my ride. I have V&H wide ovals on my FLHRSE3, and have taken them on numerous road trips with no problems. Hope these "Rineys" are not too loud. I appreciate the info!
