Cylinder and head ? 96"
« on: December 24, 2014, 12:43:23 PM »

Ok so I've been cleaning out the shop an ran across a set of 96" Pistons, heads, jugs. With 9,000 miles. They came off my old 07 for a SE 110" kit.
So here's my ? If bolted on an 88" lower end would they be 96" or something else? Also what do you think they would be worth?
Thanks Steve

You could use the jugs & heads but not the pistons.
Cylinders are cheap.
The heads usually go for around $150 on fleabay.

You can bore those cylinders to 98", and with flatops pistons under the advertised 85cc chambers, it'll hover at about 9.5 cr.
At that point, there is a multitude of cams out there that'll work, with even more being dreamed up every day.
Addressing the cylinder heads will just bring even more. :)

I have a 110"
Scott these were old take off parts. Just wondering could some one bolt Em on an 88" as like a Big bore kit? Or are they just flea bay parts?

the 88 and 96 cylinders are the same,  no advantage to putting these on the 88.

Wrist pin C/L location of the 96" pistons is .187" closer to the piston deck and will not work on top of the 4" arm 88" crank unless a custom cylinder was used, but both are 3.750" holes.
We have a HUGE amount of very good 95" take-off pistons that would require a new ring set....
