Mild build
« on: January 03, 2015, 01:17:32 AM »

2014 CVO road king right now just cfr slip ons thinking of putting fullsac dx header pipe, PCV tuner, gmr 577 or kury 24,  S&S lifters and pushrods. not 100 percent on pulling the heads off If  i do was thinking t man street performance heads with .030 HG. Any advice and what you think it may do for power just looking for a strong reliable build nothing crazy would be happy with a nice tq cerve over a 100 from 2500 up would be nice.

Cams are always a touchy subject as each of us have our own idea on them.  If those are the 2 choices you've narrowed it down to, then I would probably go with the 577.  I've seen Dyno charts that look like they would be great for my riding style and GMR is a forum member.  I have no experience with Kury.  Seriously, don't order the cams until you've talked with whomever is doing your heads, though.  Each piece needs to work together.

For a tuner, I would advise against a piggyback device and recommend the TTS or PowerVision. Both are great.

The reason I picked the power commander is it won't leave a trace in the ecm I can just pull it out if need be like warrenty stuff. And my dyno tuner is very familiar with the device as well he prefers it.

I'm lovin' my 577's. They are a great compromise between the stock tractor cam and a high rpm cam.

The stock cam fell on their face around 4000 rpm and the 577's run out another 1000 rpm'ish.

Call GMR about the heads. He does them as well and knows the requirements of the cam.

With a Mastertune, it's very quick and easy to return the ECM back to the factory tune if needed. Plus the maps address many more tuning parameters than the PCV. However, I understand that you may have your reasons.

I thought about going with Thunder max tuner as well so my ecm could remain un flashed and they have more peramiters but didn't want to spend 1000 dollars on a tuner and my dyno tuner said it wouldn't do much more if anything.

I could be wrong but I thought the Tmax and the Daytona TwinTec ECMs don't utilize the ion sensor.

Freddy, if your ever down this way stop in at T man's shop.
It is a production facility but every time I have been there you can eat off the floor.
He runs a tight ship.
Good choice on the 625's.
