I rolled out of Coronado at about 6:30 am this morning and headed up I-5 to Long Beach. Met Mark (Ironhorse) at a little neighborhood restaurant for breakfast. As I rolled in to LA, it begun to rain so I was glad I'd put on my eXtreme Element riding gear before leaving.
The restaurant was one of those hot little breakfast spots and so it was packed and a lot of people waiting. They refuse to seat anybody until everybody in your party is in the building. I was not happy about this at first but quickly observed that by doing this the service is very fast and because the tables and booths weren't tied up for exceptionally long periods of time that once your party is ready to be seated it was only a couple of minutes before a table is actually ready. I liked the concept.
We finished eating a great breakfast and rode on over to the Long Beach Convention Center. I was immediatly surprised to see that the parking lot wasn't full and there wasn't a long line. I've gone to the Easyriders Bike Show in Sacramento for years and it's always crowded way before the ticket windows or the doors open.

We forked over our hard earned cash and retrieved the little piece of paper they call a ticket and went on in. Nothing changed....it wasn't very crowded inside and while the room is about the same size as the Sacramento show, just wasn't near as many vendors or bikes.....nor near as much eye candy....Jock you would have been disapointed. With LA being so much bigger than Sacramento, I was really surprised that the show was at least as big as Sacramento's. A couple of the vendors shared with us that they do twice the business in Sacramento (next weekend) that they do at the Long Beach show. Anyway, we trudged on.......
This little guy had a patch on the other side of his vest that said "I always smell it first!"....

Some interesting artwork....

This pic of Mark also reflects some of the open spaces that was throughout the convention hall.

For those in to flames.......

and for those who say that there's no such thing as to much bling.....

Old school choppers.......

and rat bikes.......

and for a bit younger generation....from their childhood....the big wheel...

Mark and I walked this entire show, twice (both directions) and was done by 11:30 am.....that's how small this show was/is. They did have a local blues back crank out some really good blues.
