Handlebar mounted GPS - can it look elegant?
« on: January 04, 2007, 05:55:40 PM »

Most GPS systems seem to be made for dashboard fitting, and thus for Touring bikes.

I dream of a nice GPS unit for handlebar mounting - preferably chromed  [smiley=apple.gif]

Does it exist?

I don't want to pollute my shining chromed FB with something that looks like a 10 dollar beach radio.

Good ideas are greatly appreciated!

My mount looks like about a $40 add on clunked on the handlebars.  But it beats boring holes in the bike for a fairing mounted unit that is less capable anyway.  Beach radio may be ugly.  But it beats having to think about where you are when you realize you are somewhere about halfway in between hell and gone on short fuel.
