What should I expect???
« on: March 26, 2015, 03:01:08 AM »

I have a 2005 CVO Fatboy with a stock 103 motor.  I had the bike dynoed last summer, and was pleased with the numbers- 102.28 TQ and 93.65 HP.  I am installing D and D Fat Cat 2-1 Exhaust (Louvered baffles per D and D's recommendation) and Thundermax Autotune next week.  Just wondering if anyone can tell me what I could expect in HP and TQ gains, and if anyone else is running a similar setup that could post some results.  Are the current numbers high for a "stock" 103 motor?  I was told that the motor was stock by the dealer, but does the TQ curve start early for 253 cams?  I am surprised that the 103 numbers are so close to a lot of the 110's.

I am new to the site, and I appreciate any help that is out there.  I have already picked up a lot of good info from browsing older posts.

The only correct answer you will get to compare is take it back to the same dyno after your
modifications.  Also, why not have it tuned instead of buying the Autotune?

I do plan on taking it back to the Dyno.  It was a hard decision to go with the Thundermax.  There are a lot of mixed reviews out there, and it seems like guys either love it or hate it.  Although the Tmax is marketed as an auto tuner, it is still possible to make manual adjustments and tune the bike, right?  Or does it not have the same levels of customization as a PC, TTS, etc.?

I like the fat cat on the fatboy. I too have the tmat. I works ok.  Not sure about gains but it has proved nicely for me.

IMO, I would put the money towards a TTS and find a good tuner / dyno that has the know how to tune it.
