That's good to hear that you're so pumped with the results, Kojak.  Did you notice a significant loss of torque on the low end with the TD's?

Torque increased by 10 ft-lb! Bike rev's and feels a lot stronger from 2000 rpm up! Red is stock, Blue/green is after mods.

Wow, look at that stock A/F in the normal driving RPMs. No wonder these things are burning up. HD should be ashamed letting motors go out like that. Your new curves look good now. Nice and smooth. It should feel much more responsive and pull stronger now. It's gotta be cooler too. What's your take? Have fun man! I'm right behind you! ;) Hoist!  8-)

Hoist, my take is GET THE EFI TUNED! No matter what mods you make( or even none), it will run better and last longer!  :)

Kojak,

Thanks for the pics.  The mods look great.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I can't wait to get my TD's installed.  I guess if I would settle on which ones I want, it might speed up the process.

Later,
Ghost

Hey GR, are you planning to go with the TDs right away? I started off thinking that way. After checking different exhausts and engine builders, there's a good arguement to try to keep the stock headpipes. The unknowns are the heat removal and how much, if any, top end is given up.

This is from S&S: "For most street applications, S&S has always recommended low restriction slip-on mufflers with stock header pipes. This provides a very economical and effective street exhaust system....For very large displacement engines like our...S&S slip-ons provide excellent mid-range torque, but may not develop maximum peak horsepower. To achieve more high RPM power with these engines, we recommend one of the many excellent high performance baffled aftermarket exhaust systems."

Keeping the bike basically stock except the mufflers shouldn't change the characteristics of the engine so much that I'd expect to lose any top end performance. Especially with the stock SE255 cams. That's why I'm going to try the stock headpipes first. The TDs can always be added to most mufflers you'd want to use. The stepped RH header seems to be one you can't add if using stock headpipe sized mufflers, but RH makes standard size slip-ons too. Why rush into the TDs until we know for sure that they'll matter. My $.02. ;) Hoist!  8-)

Hoist,

I really didn't think I had a choice.  d00d told me I had to put true duals on. ;D ;D

I guess this would fall under "R&D."  I just want to see what she will run like with a new K&N filter, SERT, and true duals.  My dealer is recommending bassani true duals, but I don't really like the looks of the headers.  I guess in the end it depends on what they will let me put on without voiding my warranty.

From the sounds of some of the threads about these 110's burning up, I am going to try and get this done as soon as I can accumulate the cash.

Ghost, Rbmtx, Hoist,
1. Find a great tach to work on your TD install. There are NO exhaust systems made for the FLHRSE3. The RH True Duals have to be adjusted carefully to make it look right and avoid the brake lever dinging the heat shield. You will have some isue with RH, Bassani (not sure about V&H) since they make their systems for the TC96 with the 6speed. My tech, Art, was great! He worked the rear mounts and crimped the heatshield slightly near the brake lever to have 1/4" clearance at all times. If you look at the pictures, you will see it came out great. No grinding, cutting, changing levers involved. It was worth it for me since I just dont like how the crossovers look. ;D
2. Not sure what the base map was (maybe 84) but with the possible 500+ possible adjustments to EFI with the SERT, he was able to dial the AFR pretty close to ideal over most of the RPM range.
3. If you look at the DYNO graphs, there is never a point where torque is less than stock with the stock exhaust vs the TD's. Didnt loose torque at low rpm's and gained torque and hp at higher rpm's.
Have ridden 400 miles since I got it back and it is awesome! ;D ;D
