I just read this thread and all I can say is Wow!

Amazing how people are different via on-line than in person.

I do this at work and on-line when not speaking directly with someone.  If the responses aren't what is expected assume there is a miscommunication and clarify rather than attack.  Everyone here is just trying to share information (and stories) and improve our time with the passion we have around motorcycles.

Just my thoughts!   ;D

Ride safe and enjoy life!

Just FYI, for whoever posted above about NASCAR having X pipes: look at the rule book, they are illegal. Just FYI.

I know we have a number of members who are big fans of NASCAR so I was wondering if anyone knows why they ruled x pipes illegal.  :nixweiss:
Based on what was explained to me, and the fact that, for example, V&H BR 2 into 1 results in better performance numbers than 2 into 2 I understood x pipe to be a better approach for the same reasons JCZ mentioned.

It is my understanding that you unplug the OE O2 sensors from the ECM when using the Power Commander....unless you pay the extra $$ for their wide band O2 sensors and make sure you have the 18 mm bungs and pay extra $$ for additional controller.

For me that is why I like the TTS.....just changes the map in the OE ECM and still runs in closed loop.

Just saying...and I am sorry if this offends anyone.

I concur good sir!

Restraint is usually the better option. Part of what makes online communication difficult is that it's to easy to be misinterpreted - or to misinterpret. Written words often just don't come across the same as when those same words are spoken.

If you'd care to share details about your parts, install, tune, etc etc I'm sure some members would be interested.
If not, I understand because as you said "I am beyond happy" and isn't that all that really matters to you?

LOL
Maybe it was lost in the "back and forth".

I had stock headers and Rinehart tips, everything else was stock, except a K&N.
I added Bassani 'True duals' and a Power Commander V.
I would add pics but, the one pic limit is annoying.

The factory upper-frame heat shield from the left side had to be removed, other than that, everything fit.

IMO - The entire fallout from this thread was created by a sponsor of this board and Mods not wanting to recommend anything but that sponsor's products. In some way I understand but, there are other ideas/ways to accomplish the same things.
I believe most boards should be about sharing different ideas and combinations. I apologize if I stepped on the sponsor's toes, and the Mods that get benefits from those sponsors.

No mod(s) get any benefits other than what are offered to members (required discount)... you are misinformed or don't know how this forum works.

BTW... there are no "sponsors" of this forum... it is a free site run on the donations by members and the vision of the person that created it.

I continued my research regarding x pipes and racing and I learned a heck of lot more about NASCAR than I ever had before! I lost interest in NASCAR a long time ago when all the cars started to look and sound the same (hey 2k no offense -  can we still be buddies?  :nervous: ). Anyhow, found a few entries regarding x pipes being allowed for Superspeedways because it generates higher torque and hp at the high RPM range as compared to H pipes, not straights. Here's one link with a comment from someone who is on a NASCAR team (or so he says!): http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread.php/926766-X-pipe-vs-straight-pipes

So is x-pipe used in racing? the answer seems yes. How about NASCAR? At least used to be yes. I'm also thinking that if NASCAR has made it illegal it probably means it does help performance otherwise teams don't have to be told not to use it.

Then I figured I'd check the exhaust systems on various performance cars, Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren and they all either have H pipes or  x-pipes.

Finally, Corvette Stingray Z06, my latest object of intense desire, has an x pipe configuration, with 4 pipes on each side of the v8 coming into 1, crossed in the middle and routed out into 2 separate mufflers. So that's the tie breaker right there. X rules!!!

Long story short I should  have gone for the V&H BR 2 into 1 on my CVO Breakout for better performance but the 2 into 2 looked so dang nice, was noticeably louder  :P and did not cover that amazing rear wheel either!  :nixweiss:

I know, I have been told I suffer from OCD before.  :D I just saw a question posed and no clear answers given and I really really wanted to know. My apologies...  :-[

Another question regarding your install and having to remove the left heat shield. Did you have to remove it permanently or just during the installation?

I had zero control over the replies you received, if I did they would have been a little kinder. No one gets a kick back or a referral fee from me. If you were to drive your bike into my shop tomorrow you would get the same prices and service as any moderator on this forum. Sounds like your happy with your choices. Lets all be cool and ride safe!

By the way, it wasn't my toe that you stepped on.

As already pointed out....we don't have sponsors on this forum.  It's a private owned forum and you're in somebody else' house.  There aren't any fees, dues, pop-ups or ads on this forum.  The only advantage to having vendors on this forum is to you, the members of this forum in the discount that the vendors offer our members.  The fallout was created simply because you didn't like the recommendation I made to you in my first post of this thread and nothing more....own it.

You run on a lot of suspicion and assumptions and try to present it as fact.  Fortunately, those that have been here for years know how it's run and well.....we all know what assuming does.  Might want to shift to neutral until you learn just how different this forum is from every other motorcycle forum on the net.....or just ask some of these members here...unlike many other forums, they're very helpful here. :2vrolijk_21:

Oh, and for the record, it is possible to post more than one pic in a post.....you just have to be humble enough to ask for help.  Here's an example for you from the Vendor and Customer Service board.....
