One thing you notice when reading the replies is that their are a lot of diesels.  In my opininon it is the only way to go on a pick up espescially if you are ggoing to tow somthing wit it..  My prefrence is the Dodge with the Cummins.  However I feel all three have pros and cons.  All of todays pickops are top notch.  Go wheeling and dealing and see which one fits you the best.

Just for kicks and giggles, we were just looking up resale values on the  :pumpkin:

Always liked the o/b F350 diesel. What are they going for now?

                           thanks, LINNY

GM ANYTHING would be better than the other brands. The duramax has more power than the Ford and Dodges in the real world. The GM's drive better and are quieter. The diesels are not a good deal period unless you intend to drive the vehicle over a 100,000 miles, takes that long to save enough in fuel to offset original purchase premium paid for the diesel at purchase.
Buy a Escalade, they will pull 8100# and definitely have the creature comforts, ride etc that beats everything else + 400HP which is a major good thing!

Ford all the way!  I own and operate seven repair facilities and I can tell you first hand that the Fords are the best bet.  If you are only towing 10% of the time, a properly equipped F150 will work fine. I tow my  enclosed 4 bike trailer to Florida every year with no problems with mt 2004 F150 Super Crew.

With all due respect, the Escalade gets 7 mpg if you tow a trailer. I sold my '07 Denali for that very reason and purchased an F250 powerstroke and I'm as happy as a clam. I doubled my gas mileage and it tow's like a dream.

Hi there, Is that a decal (if so where did you get it) or is that a painted eagle head w/ flames?

                                                 Thanks, Linny
Lenny, That's a decal. I found a picture on an internet site and printed it and gave to my local graphics/sign guy and he made the decals. I'll see if I can find the site and pm you.   :jack:

Well, obviously hell froze over and no one bothered to let me know.  Saw a report on the news last night that said Consumer Reports just announced that they can no longer recommend three Toyota models, including the new Tundra 4X4, due to issues being reported by customers.  I never thought I'd live to see the day that CR didn't just automatically top rate anything with a Toyota badge.  The pro-Japanese and anti-American bias at CR has been pretty obvious over the years, so the issues must be fairly serious for them to publicly knock their hero's at Toyota.  :nixweiss:  (I wonder if perhaps Toyota management picked up some of that Harley disease, aka arrogance & complacency?)

Prolly cause they are built here.

I have a 05 f250 diesel.  It runs great, pulls anything and is ok on fuel (15 pulling, 18 if driven nice).
It does have a Banks Big Hoss Bundle installed since 3k miles.

The fit and finish could be better, orange peel paint, leather seat color is wearing through, door reflector just broke and fell out, one wheel has the coating peeling on it and the a/c mix valve STB.  It has 50K on it now.

My last Ford F150 xcab went 272K with no major failures other than the a/c...It started to leak a little toward the end but it finally rotted away.  I think I got 3k on the trade...

Thank you, Sir!  However, if I may offer the following qualifier...............As long as it is powered by a Cummins Turbo Diesel.   :2vrolijk_21:

Let's see . . . . . . . . Yep, got one of them in the family, too!  Just don't have any digital photos of it.  My dad has a 1992 3/4 ton red and white Ram Cummins Diesel.  Not quite the power these new ones have, but still gets the job done pulling 7,500 lbs. of enclosed car trailer full of a '69 Road Runner.

Long live Mopar!!!!!!
