The 2008 SuperDuty will be the truck to watch.  The grill is absolutly Fugly!!!  I've talked to some after market SEMA types and they're already working on after market grills and lights.  They anticipate this truck will be a winner.

This in addition to a F250/350, they're making a factory F450.  Until this year they (F450) were always conversion trucks from chassis cabs.  The insiders are saying as soon as all the 2007s are gone they will unleash the campaign.  They've been building them since the second week of December.  Can you imagine the parking lot at the Kentucky truck plant?

Check out the Ford Website!  The interior as all the creature comforts a techy would want.  I've had an F25o and it was the best truck I've ever owned.  I have an F150 now but will get one of these new trucks.  I will need it to pull the Toy Hauler I'm buying.

That F450 is HUGE, but I agree.......that grille has to go.  And I guess I'm just a purist for inline six cylinder diesels.  Less moving parts.

Ford is the first to introduce the new diesel engine; however GM & Dodge will be not far behind as explained in DP magazine.  They all have to have a new engine this year to burn the required "Ultra low sulfur diesel" Jan 2007 was the law I understand for the engines and 2009 for the fuel.

You'll love this...Kalifornia made it mandatory this year that only Ultra low will be sold in that state.  Tough luck for existing owners!

Petrol manufacturers state they're putting additives in their product so you old diesel types can use it.  You can put in an additive in each tank full just to be on the safe side.

According to Dodge and Cummins, the 5.9L diesel will work on the ultra low sulfer diesel fuel with no problems, but the new engines cannot run on the old fuel.  So Californians and others are fine running their old engines, at least the Cummins, without any ill effects.  Apparently, it's the pollution control devices they put on the new engines that require the ultra low sulfer content...the current low sulfer fuel will tear that PC equipment up.   Californians, especially Southern California dealers are upset about the new 2007 engine requirements for the ultra low sulfer fuel.  Seems a lot of their customers like to go down to Mexico and do the "baja" thing with their trucks...apparently, Mexico (Pemex) has no plans on producing ultra low sulfer diesel fuel, so it won't be available in Mexico for these baja'ers.

I get a blank Ford page when I click on the link......is anybody else getting it?

We've been burning the ultra low sulfa fuel for awhile now.  It's not supposed to affect the older model engines (other wise what would all the diesel trucks do that come from out of state?).

Gentlemen,
We started out with Ford F-150 4X4 Long Bed, V8's with 5-speeds, for my Parts Salesmen, when we first opened the Dealership.  We found the Ford Trucks to be way off budget, due to high maintenance cost.  Namely, Brakes, Rotors, Front-End Alignment, Bearings, Clutches, etc.  I realize my application is more severe than ya'lls, but we replaced the Fords with GM, servicing the same territory in WV, VA, and KY.  We run 10 of them currently.  GM definitely holds the lowest cost of ownership in the Coal Fields, hands down.  Normally, I try to get 300,000 miles out of them, which usally takes 36, to 40 months  Resale is of little interest, as they are "done", when we take them out of service.  Later--HUBBARD

Just go to the Ford website and click trucks, then 2008 Superduty and it'll be there.

I wouldn't be so quick to think that that fuel will be ok in older engines.  It will fall a little short in lubrication.  A few of the manufacturers (Fuel) have stated they will add the proper amount of additives in the new fuel to lubricate older engines.  However, you should check that the fuel has it before using a lot of it.  Not all of them has stated that.

As far as what is the better truck with respect to service, about the only difference between them is the engine!  All the other parts come from the same vendors, so I don't buy the poor brakes on a ford as opposed to a chevy.

On 4x4's they all use the same transfer case.  They just had a big article on it in DP magazine.

Most of the internal swithes and levers are manufactured by Johnson Controls.  Hell, alot of it comes from overseas.

All three diesel engines are made from other companies, but they are different.

By the way, I just paid $1.81 per gallon of gas yesterday at the Flying J.  If you would have told me three years ago that I would have been happy to pay that much for gas I would thought you were nuts.

Don't come to Washington and try to play I bought it cheaper here.  Diesel is currently $2.95 gas can be found for around $2.50 if you look hard enough for reg. unleaded.  A lot of it is taxes.

Roger, Though I hope to make it to Washington one day, it probably won't be in my rig.  It surprised me to see diesel that cheap in Kentucky.  I didn't need to fill up, but I wasn't about to pass up a deal on a half tank of diesel.

Can't make any sense of it here.  We are 3 miles from the refinary and have the highest prices in the state by at least 20 cents.

Aw, if only to be a fly on the walls of the oil company board room to listen to them laughing all the way to the bank.

Hey Bagger, if you read my other post I'm currently in a 2004 F150 which uses gas...sorry guys diesel is still up there.  Yes it was at the Flying J and it's not closed, matter of fact the line is like 1973 embargo lines.

I plan on getting a 2008 or 2009 SuperDuty in September...I will then be paying the high diesel prices.

I'm getting about 14.8 on gas, I have gotten almost 16 in the past but I can't keep my foot out of it, hey if you have 300hp why waste it?

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII think I might have thrown a little too much out there at one time.  Perhaps if you reread my post, you'll understand what I was saying.

2003 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 Supercharged Supercrew Silver/Black

Most fun truck I've ever owned. Rides well, goes like hell. Put some Bilstein's and a set of Behr brakes on it and it would be effin perfect.

Those blue Harley-Davidson F250s are friggin SHARP!  Now, if they'd just make the darn things with a Cummins Turbo Diesel, I'd buy one.
