Loud pipes now quiet.
« on: May 15, 2015, 09:42:04 AM »

Before I headed off to Frznce for the European HOG event in Saint Tropez I removed the V & H Monster Round's sliponns and reinstalled the HD OIM mufflers. I could hear my music and no more drumming of the exhaust in my ears. Made for a most relaxing 1800 miles of cruising on the road trip. While in Saint Tropez there was a Jekkyl & Hyde display with electronic variable exhaust sound. Liked the idea I must admit. If I can sell the Monsters then I might just go with the J & H mufflers. Anyone used these J & H cans?
Any one in the UK interested in buying the V & H cans off me?  :jalapeno:

I haven't used the J&H, but I'm familiar with the concept from the Peacemakers  http://www.customcruisers.com/Custom2005/customshop2005/contents/en-uk/d1444.html.  The Peacemakers seem to cost about 600 Pounds, versus about 1800 pounds for the J&H.

There's also the Patriot Defender exhaust with an easy homegrown modification to switch them on the fly:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2zlWBbFOMEA  This looks to cost about 350 pounds total http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Patriot-Defender-Exhaust-M121312S-Stainless-2-into-1-Exhaust-Pipe-with-Heat-Shie-/331406588118

Although the companies don't say this, you might need different fuel maps for the fully open/closed positions.
