Special thanks go out to Joe Vibe and his lovely bride for all there help!

A shout out to Ryan at Bumpus HD for his professionalism and help.

I was pleasantly surprised  that  they got the bike right in - I mean as soon as we pulled in and explained our dilemma  up they took the bike into the shop. We hung out for a while while they diagnosed the issue and then went out with JoeVibe and his wife for lunch. When we returned from  lunch the bike was repaired and ready to go, ESP paperwork  took some time to straighten out but all together  from the time we arrived  at the shop to the time we left smiling it was about 5 hours.

Lifters were like new according to the  technician and even the cams that had to be replaced look like new.

No collateral  damage other than a little circular  mark on the inside of the cam cover.

Great news.....as well as it could be.  At least you're back on the road enjoying your vacation and still going to get to eat some b-b-q.

I got treated the same way at Bumpus and the loaner bike for the day was a plus.  :2vrolijk_21:

Great news and glad things worked out with the least amount of hassle possible.  Maybe H-D should have all the other dealerships try to emulate Bumpus.  This kind of service deserves recognition; you might want to send a letter to H-D and the dealer principle at Bumpus.

Your correct Jerry. The wife took one of the dealer's customer satisfaction survey cards and we will definitely let  them know  how pleased  we are.

Tom Bumpus is the owner.  Reports like this is what swayed me to buy my CVO here recently over the other three dealers in the area with similar prices.  Have had similar service in parts and motorclothes.

There is another guy in Memphis that has a shop I built his 120 in fact Both Joes bike and his where here at the same time. If you cannot get help he is another source to try. Let me know I can forward his or your info , what ever works .

And for the record there are other lifters that are 100 % on par and offer the same warranty as S&S out there :).  Some refuse to believe that and that is fine.  But its like saying the best truck is a chevy..  :beatdeadhorse:

You won't convince me otherwise  :P

Phato, Glad it all worked out for you. Hats off to the Bumpus team and JoeVibe and his wife for the hospitality  :2vrolijk_21:

Very happy it wasn't what many of us feared. Good to hear the lifters and cams looked good as well. I know what it is to be a long way from home and have a major problem, can get expensive waiting for repairs etc. Enjoy the ribs.

BTW, next time I'm over Bumpus way, going to stop in and let them know we hear good things. I think it's important for riders to acknowledge good service, instead of only the negative.

Packing up now and heading up to Cadiz in a little while.

phato, glad it all worked out to be a simple & easy fix. my friend from Ok didn't have that luck. same deal, everything is fine, we stop for fuel, pull back out & motor sounds like it's coming apart. dealer in Ok had done upgrade mods & put the stock original tappets back in,(duh, delbert). THEY WOULDN'T  authorize another dealer to warranty their work, so we loaded the bike & hauled back to Ok. 1 yr later friend is back in Va & has motor issues again ( local dealer says motor is ready to turn loose, again) friend traded bike here in Va, no more dealing with Ok dealer.
As for Joe Vibe? knowing Joe I don't think I would or could expect anything else or different from him. Joe is a great person, who goes out of the way( far beyond the call of duty) to help others, especially CVO members (guests in his neck of the woods)
KUDOS !! to Joe again. I think this is the norm ( standard )for members on this site, at least for me. GREAT PEOPLE!
