I'm guessing you're referring to the iPhone 6 plus as the 6S is not yet available.  The 6 plus is the big honker.

My iPhone 6 fits fine.  Not sure if the iPhone 6 Plus would fit.

No need to fit it. Just stream music and calls through Bluetooth and put it i the tour-pak. Then you may charge it at the same time :apple:

Streaming music has been disappointing at best. Especially Pandora or Spotify, Most times, if i turn either of those on my phone, the infotainment radio wants to just play the music that's stored on my phone. Plus no album art. Instead, I've been plugging in and stashing my 6 plus in the street glide cubby unable to close the door.  That is until last night when a quick throttle twist sent it out the back and on to the highway.

So I was thinking about finding, buying, or making a long USB cable that goes back to a saddle bag or my tour pack. Anybody done this? Or seen a cable like this for sale?

Do an online search for a 3 meter (9.8 foot) Lightning to USB cable.  Several places sell them.  I assume 3 meters would be sufficient.

The SG's holder slides out.  Has anyone tried removing it to see if that makes it big enough to fit a "phablet"?  I have no idea if it's even close in size but I'd like to know as I will be buying a new phone before I buy a new bike so it would be handy for deciding 6 vs. 6+.

I had success using an USB extension cable. It should be male, female , get it on amazon.

If you slide the foam out the 6+ will fit fine.  I have a small cord rolled up to keep it charged.  I play most anything I want so far including TuneIn or iHeart radio.
