With a fully charged battery and the bike running around 2000 rpm, you should have approximately 14.3 volts across the battery terminals.  You need to use a real voltmeter, not the goofy gauge on the dash.  If you don't have one, you can find inexpensive multimeters (Volt-Ohm-Amp) at many auto parts stores, Sears stores, etc..

I still recommend taking it to a qualified mechanic to have the battery load tested and the charging system analyzed as well.  Batteries don't just die like this one did for no reason.  I'm assuming you didn't leave anything on that would run it down and the cables were clean and tight.

The bike was sitting for almost 2 weeks before I used so I'm not sure if it just lost charge but I need to have inspected for sure I hope the esp covers it thanks will update with news

Check that your Voltage Regulator was changed in the recall process. Mine was changed, but has just failed, giving too high a voltage when hot, then not charging when cooled down. You have very similar issues as me.

I just bought a new battery so I know that if it does it again I'll just have dealer inspect it, installed new battery and fired up on the first time
