GAUDIEST ACCESSORIES FOR A SEUC
« on: January 14, 2007, 01:41:04 PM »

Much time has been spent on this site discussing the “must have” changes to properly accessorize a new FLHTCUSE. Let’s spend a little time identifying what members feel are the GAUDIEST accessories they’ve seen on a SEUC. It can be chrome (God forbid), leather, paint or plastic. Let us know your opinions.  [smiley=smilie_daumenneg.gif]

As always, pictures will help.

This might not be what you are asking, but a couple things that bother me on my 07 are they used chromed plastic for the engine oil dipstick (hex top) and saddlebag / tourpack liners have "MADE IN CHINA" tags sewen in on the edge. Traditionally H-D seldom uses chromed plastic, Metric bikes have tons of it. I would also like the think that the bike that is boasted as "American Made" could source the liners from North America. Is H-D MoCo caving to the "Metric" competitor???
Just my thoughts

I know this isn't a SEUC but here's the kind of deco/discust I'm talking about.

And my personal favorite - the ever present cup holder. Seem's like SEUC riders should have both hands on the grips.

That one definitely suffers from a lack of theme or continuity front to rear.  Just stuff stuck on it because someone saw the stuff.  It really does pay to take a step back and think about this stuff a little.

However......

Sometimes you can have a theme......

The bolts in the rider backrest have my attention. I wonder what kind of treatment the stylist executed on the saddle. That style exhaust pipe has been around forever.

OK folks, what year is this machine?

Those pipes aren't from the bike, they are from the on-board generator in the tour pack!! ;D

Okay, so it doesn't sound like I'm picking on this one - at least the cups has "flames"... ;)

[smiley=zwtf.gif] A theme??  The tour pak must have a 3K generator in it to run all of those lights.  But give him credit...no cupholders.

Yeah BB, it isn't exactly "my thing" either.  But I love the old couple that ride it.  It's an old Tour Glide that I've seen around the midwest at rally events for years.  I think they got it new if memory serves.  And he just kept adding and adding and adding.  They love it; which is of course all that matters.

They seemed an "older couple" when I first ever saw them.  And that's been years ago.  Now they've got to be well in to their 70s I'd guess.  And they still keep riding in to the rallies.  They chat and they laugh and they talk with everyone that comes up to ogle their machine.  They have a great time seemingly all the time.  That old man might very well be who I want to be when I grow up.
