One of my pet peeves on any Ultra, much less the SEUC, is all the friggin' lights people put on 'em...this guy's got about 200 too many.  I didn't know you could get a 150 AMP alternator...

Yeah BB, it isn't exactly "my thing" either.  But I love the old couple that ride it.  It's an old Tour Glide that I've seen around the midwest at rally events for years.  I think they got it new if memory serves.  And he just kept adding and adding and adding.  They love it; which is of course all that matters.

.....
WOW!!!!! I had to go back and look at that I thought it was a "Winger" at first w/all those lights. [smiley=oops.gif]

They seemed an "older couple" when I first ever saw them.  And that's been years ago.  Now they've got to be well in to their 70s I'd guess.  And they still keep riding in to the rallies.  They chat and they laugh and they talk with everyone that comes up to ogle their machine.  They have a great time seemingly all the time.  That old man might very well be who I want to be when I grow up.

There's a old guy (retired navy Chief ) that hangs around San Diego H-D a lot I think he's the local Abate rep.Nice old dude, wife too. Had a really nice clean white UC that got rear ended. He just bought a new 07 Maroon Road Glide and for whatever reason he's already got it cluttered up with a bunch of home made doo dads and brkts and chit that aren't exacty first quality work. Not sure why he's doing it, but it's ugly compared to the UC he had. Anyway, considering my already out of control OCD at 53, God only knows if I'll be like that in my 70's.

To each his own, but as for me, I can't stand fringe, wide gangsta whitewalls.........or even the thin whitewalls like they put on stock FLHTCUIs, and those chrome brake rotor covers......especially the lighted ones.  Very Gold Wingish.  Again, Hey, whatever floats your dingy, but as for me.........these things aint happening.

But I do think a cup holder is cool! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Wonder if he's heard of GLARE products  ;) At the least, we should get his name and address and send him some microfibre polishing cloths. The Mr and Mrs Silver/Black made a convert out of me  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I've asked the old gentleman what's involved in cleaning and polishing on this rig.  You have to realize too that from this photo were only seeing the "big stuff."  Don't even begin to see engraving on nearly every surface.  Tons of other little stuff that just doesn't show in this sea of stuff.

The guy explains that it never really takes too long  to dress the bike out.  Because it never really stops.  Just always rubbing on something.  Both of he and his wife.  I saw this bike roll in to Hot Springs, AR four or five years ago on a day that had been pretty nasty and rainy.  They do get it out and enjoy it.  But the cleaning just never stops....

OH MY ezrider4!  :o

I think with this thread you can really open a can of worms and offend many folks. ;D

I know the old saying about opinions and everybody has one etc. But this thread idea can cover a large grey area since what some think is gaudy is another person's thing of beauty.

Remember many bike riders think Harleys are gaudy antiques that don't have clean lines or performance and are overpriced.
Then you have Harley riders that are minimalist and want to "Be in the wind" and all of the fairings, saddlebags,TourPaks, radios,GPS and gauges etc. are just extra junk.
You also have the group that thinks the only true Harley should be black and would never pay extra for a flashy paint job. Many also think "Chrome won't get you home" and any extra money spent on it is wasted.
I doubt if any of the "anti-chrome" or "Only black" believers spend much time on this site though. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
Then the lighting issue, how many is too much and who get's to decide? Some feel one more light than needed is too much. Look at the custom bikes that try to hide or remove turn signals. I am one for safety and don't feel increasing lighting is a bad thing. Do I have my personal limits....yes I do but I won't be critical of someone who is trying to be safe.

I guess my point is I do have my personal preferences and you will not see any part or accessory on my bike that I don't personally approve of and in turn I will not put down another person for their choice. If asked by them, if I would put that part on my bike and  they want an honest answer I will give it to them.

Ride safe. 8-)

.....OK folks, what year is this machine?

It somehow just doesn’t feel right quoting yourself.

All kinds of real close answers, but nobody nailed it. :) This fine specimen is a 1984 FLT. It turns out that 1,984 is also the annual budget for replacement light bulbs.
