The speed volume control issue has not been fixed. In fact, unless it is reset after each time the motor is started, the external amplifier does not come on at all!   Try this test:  With the motor running set the svc to "3" and turn your volume up to about 60%.  Turn the bike off and let it reset.  Start motor and get the bike up to about 30 mph.  If you then reset the svc, the external amp should come back on.  This shows the issue has not been fixed after at least three software updates since I've had my RGU.   >:(

My steeler had to order a new radio mine would not update and had a very loud beep in it even if you turned the radio off. Also you could not get the preset to work to put radio stations in memory. I was told two to three weeks to get new radio. I have a 2015 CVO Limited.

Wow...i wonder how many downloads we're going to have to do...this radio system would have never made it to production for an automobile with all the problems it has. jmo :nixweiss:

Unfortunately some of the car folks have had reason to do a bunch of updates in recent years as well, but I don't remember this much activity in such a short time.  Mercedes got a lot of bad press over their early attempts with their systems, as did Ford with the My Ford Touch system.  But most of those complaints had more to do with the system being hard to use, not necessarily because the functions didn't work.

I can fully understand having updates come out to address things like customer preference items.  I cannot understand having to constantly do updates to try to fix the basic functions of the system, and then having those updates not actually fix many of the affected bikes.  Once again, it seems Harley has learned nothing from the experiences of the auto industry, and once again they seem to be content to let the retail customers be the only quality control for the product.  I'm not surprised.

Just got my bike back from the dealer and its 10k service.  I asked them to install the new 1.19.1 into the system as I had 1.19.0.  They told me they did and after my bike was delivered to me, the software menu said 1.18.2 was installed.  WTF!  I called them up and they said they installed 1.19.1, what a load of crap.

So my question is this.  I think I can but will I be good installing the latest software on top of the old?  Or do I need to do all the updates leading up to and including the latest..
Thanks!

Greg 1.19.0 fixed the AVC on my limited now it's slow booting up have to use my daily quota of patience sometimes. Now I can't load 1.19.1 as my accessory switch is back ordered  along with 4 others at my dealership. Seems a lot of people are having switch failures.

1.19.0 is painfully slow to boot up.  Have also had it hang up many times in the 7000 miles its been loaded in the bike.  Will be trying 1.19.1 as soon as I get home, before I head west August 4th.  AVC has worked a correctly about 80% of the time with the 1.19.0 software.

Just install the latest, 1.19.1.   No need to do "all the updates."

David, I installed the 1.19.1 before I left on my Canada trip. The XM seems to work better but I'll have a better idea when we get back home. The AVC works like it does in our other bikes. The next turn on the NAV is still crap. In fact I think it might be worse. Before the spoken instruction was always correct and the next turn one was pretty much always wrong. Now the spoken instruction is wrong a lot. When you preview the turn by turn list it doesn’t even make sense most of the time. If you just follow the avatar on the screen it is correct. Time zone is still crap as well. Central time in ET and still bounces back and forth when you cross state lines. Think it was either ND or WY the time changed to PST. When I crossed into MT it changed to MST and has remained correct in AB, Canada. Think that's about all I found so far. Forgot the boot up seems to be better.

Are there any instructions in that huge Boom manual about resetting the system to the original factory settings?  Many electronic items and even software has such a reset feature, and if the Harley system has one I'd recommend trying that, then install the latest software update before you make any customizations to anything.  Maybe the reason some updates only work on some bikes is related to your customized settings, or a software corruption that the update doesn't fix.  Starting from a totally clean slate for the software and any user settings would at least eliminate that  possibility.  Then if the update still doesn't fix the issues others claim were fixed on their bike, you would have some ammunition to take to the dealer when you demand they replace the hardware until they fix the defects.  If it isn't the custom settings, and it isn't software conflicts, then the only thing left is the hardware, right?

Time zones were correct once I got out of TN, until NB, which went to PST.  Then in WY in went to Mountain time.  Then after that it was correct in UT, CA, OR, WA, and ID.  It was correct in CO, but in KS it went to Pacific time.  Boot up sucks.

I hope to have enough time to load 1.19.1 before I leave for Sturgis.  Get in Monday the 3rd and leave early the 4th.

I did the new down load last week, went to get new speakers installed Friday and they said they downloaded 19.1 told them I already did .So talked to the tech and he was aware I did ,but he had to do it again and hook it up to digital teck to change the rear amp to open up ,made a world of difference.,if having problems take it to the dealer and have them hook it up to the digital teck and make sure the new down load is working right .mine was not.So far so good.

I've loaded it and sometimes it boots really quick sometimes really slow sometimes it boots up goes to off screen then back on.
Almost never returns to media after a stop
AVC works great
Navigation map now zoomed out really far when it first comes up after entering address
Found a nuisance this weekend while searching POIs for Restaurants and selecting "S" for seafood it kept taking me back to "A" :'(.
Nothing really bad for me yet.
