I don't know about "best" but I tried a Trucklite Phase 7 and didn't like it.
Then I bought a full Daymaker set from a '14 limited and I'm pretty happy with them, though they are not perfect.
BTW: The CVO lighting is not different from the 'regular' Daymakers.

EDIT:The '14 and '15 OEM Daymakers are the same whether CVO or other model that has the Daymaker. To confuse things just a bit, though, the Daymaker was/is available in the P&A catalog as an accessory item long before they were offered as OEM. These P&A Daymakers are different in a number of ways from the OEM version introduced in 2014. The most obvious being the connector. They appear to perform the same.

The pattern of light cast by the Daymaker is very constrained it its pattern. Perfect for straight roads but awful in the twisties.
EDIT2: While having pizza last night I was struck by the similarity... the light pattern of the Daymaker looks like the Pizza Hut logo.

The Daymaker spots help. I later added some aftermarket 'fog' lamps and they help some.
I very much like the color and brightness of the LED lighting conversion, but the pattern leaves a bunch to be desired and takes some getting used to.

I originally had the dual bulb OEM halogen lights and changed them to TruckLite Phase 7 LEDs. Like MrSurly I switched from the TruckLite Phase 7's. This is what I'm currently using and am happy with the light pattern and brightness both day and night:

How does the color of the HID differ from the LEDs? Do you have any pics?
